American Music/ American Buddhism

Sometimes the music says more than words can ever say. To date, Buddhism has been isolated within certain groups in the American experience. If you are white, Lesbian or Gay, middle class and educated you are more likely to be familiar with the Dalai Lama's books, videos, teachings, and circumstances than a person who is black or latino, uneducated, and poor in America.

The philosophy of Buddhist peace does not have these class, race, or sexuality limitations. Buddhist peace is as open as good soul music. It easily passes between people who have an openness to its message. When Buddhist peace is shared freely with the American people it will flow as freely as this mixed band of musicians shares the beautiful message of Marvin Gaye's timeless lyrics.
